Karriem Riggins is one of those slept-on dudes who seem to pop up absolutely everywhere once you know their names.Born in Detroit to a musical family, Riggins has made a name for himself as a phenomenal jazz drummer and hip hop producer working with the biggest names in both worlds including Herbie Hancock, Donald Byrd, Roy Hargrove, Slum Village, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Common, Jay Dee, The Roots, Madlib and Talib Kweli.
To give you an idea of the respect shown to him by the hip hop community, Riggins was invited to complete J Dilla's iconic album 'The Shining' after the death of the legendary producer in 2006.
